There was a YouTube video I discovered some years ago, and it instantly grabbed hold of my attention, leaving an everlasting impression on me.
I need that!
… a little bit extra …
I didn’t want to just replicate something.
I wanted to do something better and incorporate something innovative.
I decided against using a camera tracking system. Instead there are over 4802 hall effect sensors below the board arranged as grid, which measure the magnetic field strength. By adding a magnet to the puck, it is possible to use the information magnetic field to determine the position of the puck.
The idea developed into my biggest leisure project. From mechanical construction, electronics to software, everything is developed by myself.
Some more features:
-
Adapt to player strength
The robot analyses the player and adapts to his strength. It makes sure the player is in flow, likes the game while still being challenged. -
Learn new moves
The robot tries to learn new moves by remembering good player moves. -
And more to come...
